Waiting on Wednesday {16}

Wednesday, February 27, 2013
Short and sweet this week, found a few books that sound amazing, let me show them to you! If you did a Waiting on Wednesday post leave a comment and share with me!

The Sweet Dead Life by Joy Preble May 13th

“I found out two things today. One, I think I’m dying. And two, my brother is a perv.”
So begins the diary of 14-year-old Jenna Samuels, who is having a very bad eighth-grade year. Her single mother spends all day in bed. Dad vanished when she was eight. Her 16-year-old brother, Casey, tries to hold together what’s left of the family by working two after-school jobs— difficult, as he’s stoned all the time. To make matters worse, Jenna is sick. When she collapses one day, Casey tries to race her to the hospital in their beat-up Prius and crashes instead.
Jenna wakes up in the ER to find Casey beside her. Beatified. Literally. The flab and zits? Gone. Before long, Jenna figures out that Casey didn’t survive the accident at all. He’s an “A-word.” (She can’t bring herself to utter the truth.) Soon they discover that Jenna isn’t just dying: she’s being poisoned. And Casey has been sent back to help solve the mystery that not only holds the key to her survival, but also to their mother’s mysterious depression and father’s disappearance

Panic by Sharon M. Draper March 12th

Diamond knows not to get into a car with a stranger.
But what if the stranger is well-dressed and handsome? On his way to meet his wife and daughter? And casting a movie that very night—a movie in need of a star dancer? What then?
Then Diamond might make the wrong decision.
It’s a nightmare come true: Diamond Landers has been kidnapped. She was at the mall with a friend, alone for only a few brief minutes—and now she’s being held captive, forced to endure horrors beyond what she ever could have dreamed, while her family and friends experience their own torments and wait desperately for any bit of news.

Follow Friday {19}

Friday, February 22, 2013
Hey everyone, so I'm going to update the picture for Follow Friday, which is now called Feature & Follow. I'll update the name next week not to confuse people, since I haven't been up to date with it. So here is this weeks question. If you answered it feel free to post a link to your blog so I can check it out!

What books have you given other people lately?

The last books I gave to anyone to borrow was one of my best friends. She wanted to read something more recent and something good, so I let her borrow The Iron King by Julie Kagawa and also I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore. Both of these books/ series are ones that I am absolutely in love with, so naturally I wanted her to read them as well so I would have someone else to talk to about books, which I don't really have, hence me having my blog. But anywho she gave them back but we haven't had a chance to talk about them yet.

Waiting on Wednesday {15}

Wednesday, February 20, 2013
This is always such a hard decision because I feel like I shouldn't post a TON of books for Waiting on Wednesday but there are always so many that I want to read! So I hope the books I chose you like as well, if you have a wow post feel free to link in the comments and I'll check it out.

When Miki Jones is pulled from her life, pulled through time and space into some kind of game—her carefully controlled life spirals into chaos. In the game, she and a team of other teens are sent on missions to eliminate the Drau, terrifying and beautiful alien creatures. There are no practice runs, no training, and no way out. Miki has only the guidance of secretive but maddeningly attractive team leader Jackson Tate, who says the game isn’t really a game, that what Miki and her new teammates do now determines their survival, and the survival of every other person on this planet. She laughs. He doesn’t. And then the game takes a deadly and terrifying turn.

Golden boy Ezra Faulkner believes everyone has a tragedy waiting for them—a single encounter after which everything that really matters will happen. His particular tragedy waited until he was primed to lose it all: in one spectacular night, a reckless driver shatters Ezra’s knee, his athletic career, and his social life.No longer a front-runner for Homecoming King, Ezra finds himself at the table of misfits, where he encounters new girl Cassidy Thorpe. Cassidy is unlike anyone Ezra’s ever met, achingly effortless, fiercely intelligent, and determined to bring Ezra along on her endless adventures. But as Ezra dives into his new studies, new friendships, and new love, he learns that some people, like books, are easy to misread. And now he must consider: if one’s singular tragedy has already hit and everything after it has mattered quite a bit, what happens when more misfortune strikes?

In My Mailbox {27} & Sunday News

Sunday, February 17, 2013
Ok so it is Sunday, and that is of course In My Mailbox day, but I have some news. I haven't been getting a lot of books recently, so I will only be doing a In My Mailbox once a month. I decided that day would be the third Sunday of every month. If my book buying situation changes, then I will up the amount, but for now it's going to be this way. I also will have a new feature up next Sunday to replace IMM, so don't worry there will still be Sunday posts. But for today I have taken a picture (because I wanted to do a video but am too lazy) But here is what I have gotten in the past two months, thanks to sales and Christmas gift cards. Links will be below. Some books are not YA, but there were only three dollars! I couldn't resist.

Siren by Tricia Rayburn
Alchemy of Forever by Avery Williams
The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan
Beautiful Creatures by Cami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
Pretty Crooked by Elisa Ludwig

Follow Friday {18}

Friday, February 15, 2013
Alright guys, so it is Friday, and we all know what that means. FOLLOW FRIDAY. So this is exciting because I get to start doing these posts again, and they always make me think. I actually decided to go back, and choose one that I missed that I really wanted to answer, but next week I'll go back to answering them as posted. So here is this week's question, comment with your post if you want to share your answer.

Q: If you could pick one character in a book, movie, or television show to swap places with, who would it be?

This is a really tough one to answer, because I have read so many books and watched so many shows and movies that I would love to be in. Once I thought about it though, the one place that I would love to be would have to be Storybrooke. Out of all of the characters in Once Upon a Time, I would have to say I would love to be Red. She is such a strong character, and she discovers so much about herself in the first season alone. This current season I've grown to love her even more and she helps so much with everything. So there you guys go, I would be Red living in Storybrooke helping the best I can.

Waiting on Wednesday {14}

Wednesday, February 13, 2013
Here we are, day two of the massive return week, like promised. I decided that there were going to be some old things that I was going to bring back, as well as incorporating the new things. So today we're going to go back to one of my favorite posts to make, Waiting on Wednesday. So this one isn't going to be so great because I'm slightly out of the loop with current and new books, but here are a few that I am excited for.

Allie's world is falling apart...She hates her school. Her brother has run away. And she's just been arrested. Again. Now her parents are sending her away to a boarding school where she doesn't know a soul. But instead of hating her new school, Allie finds she's happy there. She's making friends. And then there's Sylvain, a suave French student who openly flirts with her. And Carter, the brooding loner who seems to have her back. Soon, though, Allie discovers Cimmeria Academy is no ordinary school. Nothing there is as it seems. And her new friends are hiding dangerous secrets.
Abby Barnes had a plan. Get into a great college, major in journalism, and land her dream job at a major newspaper. But on the eve of her 18th birthday, she's stuck on a Hollywood movie set instead, wishing she could rewind her life. But the next morning, she’s in a dorm room at Yale, with no memory of how she got there. A collision of parallel worlds has left Abby living a new reality every time her younger parallel self makes a new decision. Forced to live out the consequences of a path she didn't choose, Abby must let go on her plans for the future and learn to focus on the present, without losing sight of who she is, the boy who might just be her soul mate, and the destiny that’s finally in reach.

At first, I merely saw his face, his hands on the window ledge. Then, his whole body as he swung himself through the window. Only I could not see what he swung on. Until, one day, I told my dream self to look down. And it was then that I saw. He had climbed on a rope. I knew without asking that the rope had been one of my own tying. Rachel is trapped in a tower, held hostage by a woman she’s always called Mama. Her golden hair is growing rapidly, and to pass the time, she watches the snow fall and sings songs from her childhood, hoping someone, anyone, will hear her. Wyatt needs time to reflect or, better yet, forget about what happened to his best friend, Tyler. That’s why he’s been shipped off to the Adirondacks in the dead of winter to live with the oldest lady in town. Either that, or no one he knows ever wants to see him again. Dani disappeared seventeen years ago without a trace, but she left behind a journal that’s never been read, not even by her overbearing mother…until now.

Calling All Bloggers, Massive week return

Tuesday, February 12, 2013
Hey everyone. So I've been thinking lately, it's kind of hard not having a job and being able to afford such a habit (reading of course!) Since this got me thinking, I realized, all of you probably deal with it too! So, how do you guys do it? I was thinking there has to be some where that has new books and aren't almost twenty dollars a book. Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for a way to get books for free, I want to know what sites out there sell books and sell them at good deals. I want to be able to, once this week is over, continue to keep getting books to review that are with the current times, not things that have been reviewed over and over months ago. So if there's a site you guys use, like bookdepository, or something similar, share your secrets!

This brings me to my second thing in this post. I know I said about a month ago that I would be making my full return to blogging, but then the unthinkable happened, my laptop decided that it wasn't going to charge anymore when plugged in. It felt like everything was against me trying to get my blog back up and running. But I have decided to take a stand against that, and have borrowed one for the time being. When my tax return comes back, I will be buying a super cheap laptop that I can use for the basics. So we're going to try this one more time. I thought the best way to do this, and to prove that I'm still here, is for a massive week return event. Every day this week expect some sort of post from me. I have so many ideas and I can't wait to share with you all. You'll have to come back to see them all though.  I'll be back tomorrow with a post! Can't wait to post for you all again.
