2011 Concerts

Saturday, February 5, 2011
So I'm currently reading quiet a few books and have some finished for review, but, I haven't gotten to post them in my In My Mailbox post so I'm going to wait after tomorrow to get those reviews up. So I was thinking why not talk about something that's really big with me right now. I've been going to about one concert a year for the past 5 years and it's something I really like to do, especially with my friends. The last two I actually payed for myself and went without my mom and with some friends. So this year is no different then the past couple of years and I've already found some concerts this year I really want to go to. So I thought I would share with you.

Hey Monday/The Ready Set
This concert is in April and I just found out about it this past week when I got the new issue of AP. I was looking into the Glamour Kills tour and found tickets to this concert instead. My mom bought us tickets for this one, and we're both going together. It's about an hour and a half away so it's one of the closer concerts of them all. I have been in love with Hey Monday since before their first c.d. came out and this is an amazing opportunity for me and I cannot wait!

Ellie Goulding
Ellie is a British singer that I've known about for about a year now. She's coming to the U.S. for a few months and she's coming to Chicago which still isn't close but it's still better than out of state. I'm trying to talk my mom into letting me go to this one even though it's in Chicago beacuse, really who knows when i'll get the chance to see her in concert again because it's a US tour. I've got about two month so we'll see if I can convince my mom or not.

Warped Tour
I have wanted to go to Warped Tour for about 4 years now and have not gotten the chance. Every year I seem to get closer and closer to getting to go, so this year I'm hoping to be able to finally go. I just have to save up money before hand, because I don't think I could go to Warped Tour and not want to buy shirts for the bands that are there. Which is also another factor in whether I want to go or not. Every year there seems to be fewer and fewer bands I like that are performing but we'll just have to see.

Is there a concert you're really wanting to go to this year? What is it and why? Let me know in the comments below I'd love to hear from you and about your music preferences.

  1. One day I would absolutely LOVE to fly out to go to the Warped Tour. The closest thing we have here in the UK is Download Festival.

  2. I originally stopped by your blog to check out your IMM post, but I just couldn't help myself when I saw this concert post! I have also been so excited to see Hey Monday & The Ready Set, it is sure to be an awesome concert =] Also, I have attended Warped Tour for the past four years, it is worth the money, trust me! Not only are there so many bands there but there are so many amazing chances to meet new bands. I hope you get to go =]

  3. Sigh. I love concerts. I haven't heard of any of those artists (yikes), but they sound fun, I'll have to check them out soon.

I missed out seeing Iron & Wine and Kings of Leon when they came to Houston :( I really really want to see them, but they're touring elsewhere at the moment :'( Last year I saw Snow Patrol, Muse (twice!), and my all time favorite band, Keane. It was amazing. I can't wait to go to more! It takes a toll on my wallet though :/ That's the reason I couldn't go see those two bands. I need to save a concert stash somewhere for "emergencies." :)

    Good luck!
